SONG 2 – JAMMING ON THE MOUNT

SONG 2 – JAMMING ON THE MOUNT

You have to be there in the morning
With a poem in your mind
To be wide awake with rhythm
Your fingers tuned in time
You have to take risks, put yourself on a limb
Make sure you don’t toe the line
You’re an artist in residence
You’re free to explore
Your words, your music, your creative more

We’re lost drivers, idea inventors
Time jugglers, community crackpots
Civic magicians, dispraxic accountants
We pull it all out of the hat
Just like that…

Hey man, write me a poem
Hey dude, sing me a song
Hey babe, get with the programme

When you’re juggling time, your life doesn’t rhyme
And the poems they want are simply a crime
When you can’t find a note, remember what you wrote
And the string quartet is elusive
It’s a pennieless life, you never see your wife
When you’re stuck in a tower for 24 hours
You’re an artist in residence
You’re free to explore
Your words, your music, your creative more

Come up and see us, we’re here all day long
